HAECO Cabin Solutions announced today its partnership with Airbus as a supplier of passenger seat.

Officials made the announcement today at HAECO’s Cabin Solutions manufacturing facility in Wallburg. Attendees included HAECO Americas CEO Richard Kendall; Doug Rasmussen, president and group director for HAECO Cabin Solutions; and Airbus executives Joe Marcheschi and JÖrg Schuler.

HAECO will supply its Vector Economy seats to the Airbus A350, and its Vector Premium seats to the A320 and A350.

HAECO Americas employs about 1,800 people across three facilities in the Triad.

The company has its maintenance, repair and overhaul operations at Piedmont Triad International Airport, and a second Cabin Solutions facility in High Point. Rasmussen said the Airbus orders will be handled in Wallburg and High Point.

The Cabin Solutions division has also landed its first customer. HAECO has declined to name the customer, but said it is “a sizeable carrier in Asia.”

Rasmussen told Triad Business Journal the first order involves installing the Vector seat in more than 20 Airbus planes.

“With Vector, HAECO has developed a true platform-based product, which share many parts and features between the Economy and Premium versions of the seats,” Rasmussen said. “Adding line-fit offerability demonstrates the trust Airbus has placed in HAECO Cabin Solutions to deliver this seat platform to line-fit customers with tighter lead times.”
