• Site Selection Magazine ranked the Lexington-Thomasville Micropolitan as #1 Micropolitan in the United States in 2008 and 2010. During it’s status as a U.S. Micropolitan between 2004-2013, the Lexington-Thomasville Micropolitan was consistently ranked in the Top 10 each year. In 2014, Davidson County was reclassified as part of the Piedmont Triad MSA.
    • Davidson County’s Valley Regional Career Academy (Davidson County School System) has achieved NC’s highest STEM designation as a “Model” STEM School of Distinction. This level of achievement has been awarded to only eight high schools in NC.
    • Davidson County Community College students competed in the 2018 SkillsUSA NC Conference and received multiple awards in Computer Numeric Control (CNC) categories.
    • The Center for Digital Education ranked Davidson County Community College #8 nationally in 2018 in digital excellence for mid-sized community colleges. In 2017 DCCC was ranked 10th.
    • Davidson County Community College received the 2018 ATD Community College Financial Empowerment Award, recognizing national excellence for outstanding Achievement and innovation in developing and scaling effective financial empowerment programs for students.
