Davidson County is convenient to some of the nation’s largest and best rated commercial airports. Davidson County also offers it’s own general aviation facility.
Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) is the 5th busiest airport in the U.S. and is located less than 60 miles from Davidson County. Piedmont Triad International (GSO) is located only 25 miles from Davidson County and Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) is less than 90 miles away. Locally, the Davidson County Airport (KEXX) provides full general aviation services and is home to Richard Childress Racing Aviation.
PORTS
Two North Carolina deep-water ports (Port of Wilmington-200mi and Port of Morehead City-250mi ) serve the Atlantic shipping lines. Davidson County companies are also conveniently served by ports in Virginia (Port of Norfolk-175mi) South Carolina (Port of Charleston-250mi) and Georgia (Port of Savannah-300mi).
